Engineer with Audiometric Services (Vic) Pty Ltd. Duties included setting up Hearing Conservation Programs within many types of Victorian and later Tasmanian Industries. Duties incl noise measurement, noise control at source or by design of enclosures, on site audiometric testing and lectures to management and shop floor employees. Occasional guest lecturer fat Swinburne Institute. Some work in Environmental noise
1986 - 2013
Formed Audiometric and Acoustic Services. Fields of work increased to include reports for Ear Noise and Throat Specialists and related interests in the area of employee exposure to noise. Including work determining employee exposures on retrospective basis using large number of noise surveys for wide variety of industries compiled since 1979, especially where factories have closed or equipment has been removed. Significant work in drafting input by Australian Council for Hearing Conservation to the proposed Occupational Health & Safety (Noise) Regulations which commenced in 1992.
Work areas increased to include collaboration with Victoria Police Forensic Laboratory with respect to explosives and subsequent murder case. More common work relates to VCAT appearances with respect to proposed developments ranging from Gun Clubs, Go Kart tracks, indoor and outdoor music venues and the like. In addition specialist acoustic work on large special machinery of the Aluminium Industry both in Australia and the Middle East. Both for industrial exposure and environmental output.
